Product Overview:
Kodak Tri-X Pan is a legendary black-and-white film cherished for its classic grain structure, high contrast, and exceptional tonal range. This box we acquired was old new stock. It expired in 1989, and offers a unique aesthetic characterized by an unpredictable charm that only aged film can provide. The grain is more pronounced, and contrast shifts are likely, adding an artistic, vintage touch to your photographs. Due to its rarity and limited quantity, we are limiting purchases to 3 rolls per customer. Although this film was originally rate at 400 ISO we determined through our test that the film produces the best results when shot at 100 ISO and developed normal.
Important Details:
Manual ISO Setting: These rolls do have a DX code, however due the its age and loss of sensitivity over the years we do not recommend shooting this film at 400 ISO. We suggest shooting this film in a manual camera at 100 ISO or a camera that allows you to manually set exposure compensations +2 stops exposure compensation for cameras that read DX code only with no ISO control.
Age-Related Effects: Given the film's expiration date of 1989 our tests found that the film has lost sensitivity and some dynamic range over the year; however we still got amazing results. Our testing determined the film gives the best results when rated at ISO 100 to compensate for sensitivity loss (See our sample images above).
